The beginning of the Association of Latvian Ship Captains should be considered the Riga Long-distance Captains Association founded in 1899
In the 80s of the last century, as public activity grew, the captains' activities for reunification also resumed and the first attempt to create a captains' association took place on April 5, 1989 in the premises of the Riga History and Shipping Museum, when 127 ship captains from various maritime and fishing organizations met.
To become a member of the LKKA, we invite you to contact any member of the LKKA Council and fill out an application
It is possible to receive and fill out the application also at VAS 'Latvijas Jūras Administrācija', Seamen's Register, Riga, Katrīnas Street 2a, at the secretary. The submission will be considered at the next LKKA Council meeting, and its members will make a decision on admitting the new member to LKKA.
