On the other side we continue meeting and communication on line as there are restrictions to travel and meet people. From CESMA Log Book You see that professional webinars and on line meetings are the only possible solutions. The new realities require new skills for the mariners which should be trained either to existing seafarers or to next generation ones. There are a lot of conferences discussing future skills of mariners in connection with the change of technology, digitalization, cyber security and climate change, new world trade routes, sailing in Polar areas, etc. And once again we face the need of balanced approach to the new technology and use of traditional ways and principles of navigation. One cannot sail safe without using instruments but at the same time looking out the window and using personal skills, perception and human evaluation remains vital for successful carriage of goods at sea. Our mission is to cooperate together with politicians and other stakeholders in the maritime industry and to meet challenges of the present building safe conditions for life on board for future generation seafarers.
